The Centre for Criminal Justice & Criminology (CCJC) invites applications for a three year Doctoral Studentship to commence in October 2010. The successful candidate will be registered for a PhD and will undertake limited teaching duties. PhD topic area should be related to existing CCJC expertise in the field of youth offending and youth justice, for example, the investigation of youth substance use, crime prevention, children’s rights, the causes of youth crime, antisocial behaviour, the work of youth offending teams and critique of the risk factor paradigm.
Applicants should be qualified to Master’s degree level in Criminology or related discipline at the time of commencement.
The studentship, which will be tenable for three years, includes home tuition fees and an annual bursary of approximately £14,000, suitable for a UK or EU citizen (overseas applicants must supply evidence of additional funding to cover their fees).
